The "trend" now seems to be DJ's producing or collaborating with artists:

Dubstep is also a new trend. adored by MANY.

MAJOR LAZER

This is Major Lazer

No, this is Major Lazer, really.

Major Lazer, is the cartoon, but it is a duo composed of Switch and Diplo.

This duo is definitely a fashion favourite, with there music played at shows such as Alexander Wang S/S 2010, Louis Vuitton S/S 2010, and Karl Lagerfeld S/S 2010.

A reggae voice, heavy bass and a touch of electro? yepp, that's probably Major Lazer.

Diplo is the quite good looking man (to the right) behind some of M.I.A and Santigold's hits. Just by hearing their songs you can imagine Diplo's musical style: dancehall, electro-dubstep, underground, jungle/tribal beats and again that reggae voice (normally female--Rye Rye).
His collaborations include: Laidback Luke, recently Tïesto
many genius remixes aswell.

Diplo is in the new BlackBerry Torch 9800 ad.

A very clean/neat video. Very artsy. Very random. Pretty great.

MGMT- Congratulations

Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser are walking through a desert accompanied by a strange creature, who slowly, slowly falls apart to finally disintegrate into the sand. An indescribable feeling when watching this video. A sad yet happy and soothing song set to a bizarre video which i'm 99% sure has meaning and a "message" behind it.

These 3 names are 3 of the best dj's out there and they constitute Swedish House Mafia (because they are swedish and they do house music but they are not in the mafia).

They've been around for quite a while as solo artists/djs with smash hits of their own, and each having collaborated with major dj's.

They were friends and have collaborated with each other before the creation of SHM (2007).

This year, their single One (ft. Pharell) has been blowing up the charts and is an amazing song to get smashed to in Ibiza or at the celebration of the Dutch football team, or any party really.

A brand new single called Miami 2 Ibiza (ft. Tinie Tempah) can be heard on youtube. Sure to be another hit.

Are Swedish House Mafia going to get the same career blast as fellow friend David Guetta*?

(not they aren't already huge)

*I would just like to remind you that David Guetta has been on the house scene for a really long time (late 90's I believe) and his tunes have been hits everywhere in Europe, but it is just last year that he blasted into the major mainstream and commercial eye of the music industry.

SHM just make you want to stand up and dance the night away with all your buddies
